Graduation Day

I am a graduate.
Tonight I earned this certificate for completing all the lessons in my beginner class. Mom and Daddy! are really proud. Hannah and I even did some high-five tricks to show how playful I can be.
I followed all my commands like a pro. My trainer Tiffany was super impressed (even though I jump on her a lot). It was a night full of treats and praises - what a great Friday night!

Embarrassing Photo Friday

This is why my Mom should not be allowed to use Daddy!'s zoom lens. I had no idea anyone was watching me, never mind taking photos. I usually try to make sure my licker shows it's best side in photos. This is not the case here. sigh

When I was just a baby Claire

I have nine other dog siblings, there were ten of us in our litter. Of the ten of us only my bother Henry and I have fair fur coats.
Dinner time was always a little crowded.

After we ate we would sleep in a heap together.

Henry and I always stood out (though telling us apart is kind of difficult.)

Gromit's first baby tooth came loose!

Gromit lost his first tooth!

Gromit lost his first tooth yesterday.

When I was losing my baby teeth I would get ice cubes to chew on, but Gromit's little mouth can't chew them very well so he can't have them.
Yesterday Daddy! found him chewing on something and thought it was something Gromit shouldn't have. That was when he noticed it was Gromit's first baby tooth - and he turned to mush for puppy Gromit. I was a little jealous.

I don't let them forget about me for too long.

If you look closely you'll see that I placed one of my pale Claire hairs on Gromit's baby tooth before Mom took the picture, just to make sure everyone knows of my presence.

Blue Tuesday

Tuesdays are blue days because they are Daddy! goes away days. I don't know why he has to go away, but he does -often. He goes to a place called "mine", which I don't understand because he's MINE and he should be here with me always.
I watch out the front window for him to return.

Last night I knew he was leaving again as soon as his "mine" bag came out. But he's MINE!?? Isn't he?

That's why I look so sad.

This is me giving Daddy! my gloomy blue face while he packed to go away.
Daddy! gave me a scratch behind my soft ears and tried to make me feel better, but I just felt more sad knowing that would be one of the last scratches I would get from him for who knows how long. Woe.
To torment me even more Daddy! rolled up all his socks right in front of me. All I could do was get close enough to sniff one, and pout.

Tuesdays are blue days in our house. Mommy pouts, I pout, Hannah pouts, and Gromit, well he just slept through the whole thing and I don't even think he's noticed that Daddy's gone yet; but he will. He will, and when he does he'll make a face like this:

We miss you Daddy!

A tribute to my orange ball.

In memory of my orange ball, which I used to have.

(I would like another one please, Mom? Daddy!?)

my new food

My trainer at school, Tiffany (I LOVE Tiffany), was talking to Daddy! and Mommy about my food last week; and now I am being transitioned from those boring kibbles to these fantastic bite sized nuggets of deliciousness.
They're even made especially for Golden Retrievers like me.

I think they are quite delicious.

Mommy has been feeding me upstairs, where Gromit can't bother me or get into my food while I eat. It's so pleasant. As much as I like my little brother, he is a glutton and gobbles everything in sight and slurps up all the water like he's a camel and there's a drought coming. I like to enjoy my meals, like my parents do. Mommy even told me my table manners have improved with my new food. I'm such a good girl. :)

Meal times are not only peaceful again, but full of new flavour and ever so satisfying. Yummy.

Daddy!'s Helper

Today I helped Daddy! recycle our 2009 Christmas tree. I was so excited when Daddy! brought the Tree Farm home to me, and now I had to say goodbye - so sad. It looked as though half the tree farm was left in a heap at the recycling place.
My job was to observe from the back seat of the truck while Daddy! hauled our tree to the pile. I made sure there were no squirrels or birds to get in the way.

I like helping Daddy!.

My New Pink Collar

Now that the Christmas season is over, Mommy and Daddy! thought it was time for a new collar. My previous collar was beautiful and wintery, but too seasonal. Daddy! chose this specific shade of pink for me because he knew I would look so pretty in it, and I do. I think it goes well with my fur, and my little golden heart tag from the city compliments it well.

I did not want to sit still so Mommy could take a good picture of me in my new collar. Running is just too much fun.
